Angela is a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, maintaining a private practice in San Jose, California.
Angela entered the counseling field as a second career, bringing with her a
wealth of life experience which include marriage, infertility,
adoption, parenting, respectful divorce, loss of both
parents, life transition, and spiritual growth.
With 13 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a
graduate of John F. Kennedy University specializing in Holistic Counseling
Psychology, along with holding certificates in Buddhist
Psychology, Spirituality in the Counseling Field, and Certified
Process Therapist, she is currently serving as private
practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of
expertise include marriage counseling, marriage enrichment, communication
skills building, grief and loss, divorce process, alcohol/drug abuse,
parenting/launching, infidelity in marriage, and
infertility/adoption.
In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Angela
was on staff at John F. Kennedy University, serving as adjunct faculty
teaching basic addiction studies. Additionally and to her credit, she has
worked as the family counselor in two inpatient drug/alcohol treatment
facilities, teaching about alcoholism/addiction and helping families
transverse through this complex disease. In 2017, Angela added a second
license, LAADC (Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor).
Angela is an interactive, experiential, process therapist. Her
therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help
clients develop their own solutions to personal life challenges. She
integrates complementary methodologies and techniques, such as mindfulness,
CBT, imagery exercises, narrative therapy, and art therapy, and recently
EMDR, to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With
compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them
build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed
to accomplish.
